Domestic Partnership Rights in California
While California law currently does not recognize same-sex marriage, registered domestic partnerships fall within the Family Code and afford the same rights to same-sex couples as married parties.
They also require similar dissolution proceedings in order to be terminated. Many of the same issues arise during the termination of same-sex domestic partnerships such as the division of assets, custody, and support.
Our attorneys are experienced in handling the termination of domestic partnerships and any subsequent legal issues that arise.
